Florentine Stefano Bemer has established a globally unrivalled reputation through an uncompromising approach to the art of shoemaking.
Every part of the Stefano Bemer shoe is made in a considered and unique way. The leather is soaked in water for 12 hours, then allowed to dry and rest, before being wrapped in paper and beaten with a hammer on stone. The sewing thread used for the welt and the sole is made on-site using an ancient technique of twisting linen thread with a pitch and pure beeswax. Even the shank which supports the foot arch is made of wood in the traditional manner.
Together, these elements give the product an unparalleled lightness and comfort. The result is a perfectly balanced shoe that becomes an expression of each individual’s style.
